Why we love Commonry

Now that I’ve learnt to embrace my body, I can appreciate the joy of shopping. It can be so much fun — trying on clothes, swapping favourite stores and finding a new outfit that makes you feel like a million bucks.

But when I hated my body, I also hated fitting rooms, mirrors, sales staff and those tiny, expressionless mannequins in the window. A lot of that negative experience was about me, but it was reinforced by the fashion brands we’re surrounded with — who tell us we need to be thin, tall and flawless if we want to wear their clothes.

Slowly, the fashion industry is getting on board with being inclusive of all bodies and kinder to their consumers.

One of my favourite fashion brands, which has been a catalyst for change and hope in an industry that often struggles to make the right choices for women, is Commonry.

Here are 5 reasons why I love them:

  1. They proudly feature women of all shapes and sizes in their marketing.
  2. People with different body shapes and sizes can actually buy their clothes because they offer sizes 8 to 24.
  3. It’s not just lip service — they walk the talk. I’ve been part of their marketing campaigns and everyone in their team — from the photographer to the caterers — was warm, genuine and inclusive.
  4. They care about the planet and are committed to sourcing ethical materials.
  5. Their clothes are stunning and make you feel like you can take on the world!

Check out Commonry.

PS: This is not a paid post — while I was the face of a Commonry campaign in 2023, I continue my support because of my genuine love for the brand.
