The day came when the risk it took to remain tightly closed in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to bloom. - Anais Nin

I’ve had the privilege of working as a copywriter at the Body Image Movement since 2014. Shortly after I began working with Taryn, she called me with the idea to create a global sisterhood of body lovers, what is now known worldwide as BIMGAP. As the very first ambassador inducted into the program, I hope to share what I’ve learnt from her and this movement with those around me. ToÊeat for satisfaction, rather than calories. To move your body for the mental gains, not the weight loss. To recognise your body is the vehicle to your dreams, not an enemy to be at war with. She often asks, “What will you be thinking about when you take your last breath?” When I close my eyes and imagine tat moment, I visualise all the things that are of true importance to me – none of which are the size of my hips or thighs. Instead of appreciating all that I love when my time is up, I plan on celebrating all that’s wonderful about life in the present.
