To embrace and love who we are, we have to reclaim and reconnect with the parts of ourselves we've orphaned over the years. - Brene Brown

My life centres around my family – they are my inspiration and my passion. Motherhood is a rollercoaster, a whirlwind; itÕs boring, itÕs thrilling, itÕs exasperating and itÕs heartbreakingly incredible. I am a breastfeeding counsellor and I love my work. However I am dismayed by how many new mums are affected by the diet culture we are surrounded by. Dismayed but understanding Ð that was me a few years ago. I hated my body all my life. Every event in my life is coloured by where I was on the fat-thin continuum. What a waste, my mental health was suffering. But I now LOVE MY BODY and LOVE LIFE. I credit Taryn and BIM for a massive part in this change. Through watching (and screening) Embrace, working with an amazing health coach and some therapy I have slowly realised how much my view of my body had been sabotaged by cultural misconceptions and I wonÕt have it any more! I am so excited to be a BIMGA, I want to share this new headspace and zest for life that IÕve gained. I wonÕt waste another moment worrying about my body or my weight, IÕve got real stuff to do!
