Body image is the number one issue affecting our gorgeous kids! We think this needs to change! So, our mission is to educate this impressionable group to embrace their bodies and love who they are, both inside and out, with the introduction of our (first ever) children’s book – Embrace Your Body.
Based on the iTunes #1 hit children’s song, ‘Embrace’, this beautifully illustrated book is aimed at early learners and provides an opportunity for parents, carers and teachers to help children build a foundation of positive body image values based on moving, respecting and enjoying their bodies.
Embrace Your Body is sure to become a must-have book in every home and school throughout Australia.
Hello teachers, we salute you and all that you do! We would love you to share the Embrace book and song in your classroom. It is suitable for all children in primary school, from foundation to grade six. The book fits within all six focus areas of the Health and Physical Education Curriculum including Food and Nutrition, Health Benefits of Physical Activity, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Relationships and Sexuality, and Safety.
Below you’ll find curriculum-aligned classroom activities created by Dr Zali Yager, Associate Professor in Health and Physical Education and Taryn Brumfitt, Founder Body Image Movement. Enjoy!
