Our beautiful, remarkable bodies are forever changing. Embracing these changes, alongside navigating the fluctuating clothing sizes that come with them, can be challenging. 

Here are five quick ways you can make the experience a bit more comfortable

  1. Remove the tag 

Finding clothing that fits you and is comfortable is far more important than the little number printed on the tag. Remove the opportunity to focus on the size by snipping it off. After all, who was going to see it besides you? 

  1. Opt for versatile pieces 

Choose clothes that can accommodate weight and shape fluctuations, like items made from stretchy fabrics and adjustable/elastic waistbands.

  1. Let go of unhelpful thoughts 

Forget telling yourself that smaller clothes are worth keeping for when you lose weight. Fill your wardrobe with clothes that represent you in your current phase of life and that make you feel confident and comfortable.

  1. Shop at size inclusive stores 

Find and support stores where you feel represented in the sizes offered. If you often fluctuate in size, op shops can be a great place to start for more affordable options.

  1. Curate your feed 

Flood your social media feeds with people who share a similar body shape and size to you, as well as people who are wearing clothes that you would wear.
